A Picture Gone Wild

Kylie combed Thomas' hair and tried taking a picture of him before she realized the camera was on video. Apparently I didn't come to the rescue quickly enough and she got a long wild video. Usually these are the kinds of movies I delete, but somehow it tickled our funny bones and made us burst out laughing. If you can get past the nasty nose and not get too dizzy, maybe you'll laugh too. I thought it's worth a try. :)

Dancing Couple

I was busy scrapbooking in my bedroom while I heard the kids having a dance. When I went out to watch, I found Madalyn dressed as a boy in Spencer's clothes and church shoes, dancing with Alexis. Kylie is playing the piano, a song she taught herself. It was all pretty cute. January 15.

SNOW!!

On January 20 we got 5-6" of snow. It was beautiful. The schools had 2 1/2 days off. We still home schooled, but did a lot of fun things like making snowflakes to decorate the house and reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory aloud snuggled on the couch.
Here are a few pictures:

Going outside to check it out while it was still falling. This was 9:00am (time stamp never fell back). We got about 1/2" by the time it stopped at 10. Thinking this was all, we were disappointed. Then at 12:30 it started up again and snowed until nightfall. It was so much fun watching it come down all day. Nathan got home at 3 and played in it with the kids. They made lots of snow angels, had a snow ball fight, and made a snowman.

Spencer was the main one who played outside with Daddy. Kylie also played outside quite a bit, but since we have no snow gear, the others got cold and wet and quickly went inside for hot chocolate.

Thomas would have loved to play outside longer, but I was too cold to stand outside and watch him. :) At least we let him see the snowman Spencer and Nathan made. Except he wanted to knock it down. :) The cute thing about Thomas was that every time we went outside he would say, "Brr!! Cold!"

Here are Madalyn and Alexis watching Nathan, Kylie, and Spencer have a snowball fight. We also watched all the neighbors playing in the snow. A couple of them have 4 wheelers and they would pull kids behind them in sleds (which were actually small plastic swimming pools). It looked like a lot of fun, and we laughed as we watched them slide all over the road and go around turns. It was a great day!

Nativity

Christmas Eve we were out caroling, so we did the Nativity play on Christmas night.

Here are the Nativity cast members before their performance. Kylie was the angel, Madalyn was Mary, Spencer was Joseph, Alexis was a wise man, and Thomas was a shepherd. They did a great job and it was so cute!

The shepherd stopping to get a drink on his way to town.

The wise man presenting Jesus will all of her treasures.

Christmas Morning

I know it's blurry, but this is the kids in the girls' room, lined up to go downstairs to see what Santa brought. Oh, the excitement!

Thomas wasn't too interested in going downstairs. He was more excited about a green ball someone gave him when we went caroling. :)

Alexis showing us the 2 candy canes she found in her stocking.

Eating our Christmas breakfast. I made cinnamon rolls in the shape of a Christmas tree and frosted them green, just like my mother used to do (I think she still does, we just haven't been home for Christmas in several years.) It was very tasty!

Finally Blogging!

I know it's the last day of January, but I'm finally going to post our Christmas pictures now. I've been enjoying the excuse of cold weather to stay inside and scrapbook. So that's what I've been doing this past month. I've gotten lots done, but have lots more I'd like to do before the baby comes. It's been a lot of fun, but I've neglected our blog. So for those of you interested, I'll be posting our Christmas and January pictures quickly today with probably only a little bit of blogging. Enjoy!
