Week ending 8-28-16

Monday morning some of the kids wanted to watch the sunrise.

Tuesday night: Spaghetti for dinner.

I love some of his confused frowns. Like "why are you taking a picture of me?"

Looking at a big library book.

We sat on the wall and spied on Kylie, Madalyn, and Spencer's mutual BBQ activity.

Wednesday: First day of public school ever. Spencer is taking an orchestra class at the middle school down the street. I snapped a picture as soon as he walked in. Kylie and Madalyn are also taking orchestra and French at the high school along with seminary. But I didn't get pictures of them.

After we finished our homeschool work, I took the kids to the park before picking up Kylie and Madalyn from high school. We had a nice cold front come in and it was only upper 70s. Hot in the sun, but perfect in the shade. It was really relaxing watching the kids play on the playground, reading in the shade, and playing basketball with Spencer.
This picture was for my sister, Lori. Too bad it's a little blurry.

Playing some rescuing game.

Riding bikes on our sport court.

Kaitlyn asked for her picture to be taken.
Tom on his green machine.
I love navy and jeans on this kid.

Grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner on the deck.

Anderson loves the bike pump. He plays with it all day long.

Week ending 8-21-16

I didn't take a lot of photos this week. Nathan worked hard getting his practice up and we were busy with school and everyday household stuff. It was a good week, though.
Sunday: Samuel asleep after church. He's between the cushion and the back of the couch.

Nathan taking the 4 littles up to bed.

Monday: Kylie was FHE treat but she was sick so I made s'mores brownies for her that turned out delicious. I made a double batch and they were gone in a few days.

Tuesday: Anderson loves to get toothbrushes and dip them in the toilet, so during school (to keep him occupied) I got the popcorn bowl full of water, put him in his swimsuit, gave him lots of toothbrushes, plopped him outside, and let him go at it. He was happy for an hour plus so I repeated it every day the rest of the week. Samuel often joined in and the two had a lot of fun together.

Wednesday: Thomas built a treasure box out of cardboard and filled it with jellybellies, play jewelry, and all of his money. Then he hid it and had Alexis and Kaitlyn find it according to the treasure map.

They found it!
Alexis played Olympics with the little kids. She took the couch cushions outside and made a vault. I love how creative the kids were this week and how they made fun things for their younger siblings to do.

Madalyn saved her money and got a fancy camera. Wednesday it came in the mail.

Thursday: The bishop's wife gave us a bag of school supplies. She totally spoils us but we love it.

Week ending 8-14-16

Last Sunday: We had a nice storm (can't get enough of them here) with a beautiful double rainbow.

Tuesday: hanging out, watching the Olympics
The little boys playing in the garage.
Anderson standing up and trying to walk on his own.

Wednesday: We moved pieces of a very heavy desk into Nathan's new office.
First I wanted to take pictures of what it looked like without any furniture in it. This is where his new desk will go.
This corner has the exam table.
This is looking in the front door. The front room will be the waiting room. The back room will be his office and exam room, with his desk on the left and the exam table is on the right.
Another view of the waiting room with the exam room to the left.
A little alcove in the waiting room. I think it would make a great children's play area with some toys and a bookcase and little chairs. But for now Nathan is storing an extra exam table.
The entrance to the office is on the left. This is the waiting room. The office/exam room is the back room. I'll post pictures another week with all the furniture in it.
Unloading the huge desk.

Wednesday was also Thomas's birthday. For lunch we played "Hungry Holladays," a restaurant, and ate outside.
Opening presents and cards.

We found a green machine in the classifieds to get him for his birthday. We played on it the rest of the night and had a lot of fun.

He made a balance beam cake with sprinkles for the spectators in honor of the Olympics.
Thomas is 9!!

Beautiful clouds that night.

Thursday: eating a nice family dinner outside.

Anderson

Friday: Some of the kids came up to the office to play doctor before he opens it to patients.
Kaitlyn trying out Doctor Daddy's new desk chair.

Madalyn took this for him to put on his website.
We also staged a patient interview to put on his website. This is the new desk he found in the classifieds. It took awhile to put together but it looks great.
I like this angle better.

Anderson can open the door and go outside. I've never had a 10 month old be able to do this. (He's 11 months now but he's been doing it for a month.)
Saturday: Beautiful Kylie playing beautiful songs. She'd spend all day Saturday playing if she could.
