Week ending 3-31-19

Last Sunday: Lori saying good-bye to Tami before heading back to Nashville. Lori and I and 5 little kids visited my brother and his family while Nathan and the 5 oldest kids visited his brother and family. We should have taken more pictures because we all had a great time.
Monday: After the little kids were in bed we watched Relative Race with popcorn and cookies. Lori got Talea to copy her popping popcorn in her mouth one at a time. I know the pictures all look the same but it was really cute how Talea would toss one in her mouth and laugh with Lori.

Tuesday: Lori went home in the morning. In the evening when the older kids went to mutual the little kids pretended to sleep outside.

Then they brought everything inside and made comfy chairs and ate kiwi for a bedtime snack.

Wednesday: We had quesadillas (delicious with sprouted wheat tortillas and cooked on the griddle) and popcorn and watched 2 Duggar episdoes during the dinner hour. It was really fun.

Then we went outside and jumped for awhile.
Thursday: After taking 7 kids to the dentist we then got our emissions test. Here the kids hang out waiting for the van to be done.
This place offers a free car wash with emissions test so we got one for the very first time ever. The kids loved it! Andy laughed the whole time. (The lady gave them suckers too.)
That afternoon Thomas built this mini golf course.

Friday: We put up Easter decorations.
Nathan took the kids to the store to buy a 3 pack of model rockets for his birthday. They spent the evening putting them together. It's the first Friday night he's been home for as long as I can remember. The kids loved it.

Saturday: Nathan's 42nd birthday. He launched some rockets and ate pizza with some friends.

It wouldn't be his birthday without his traditional angel food cake. :)

Afterward I put Talea down for a nap and went on a short hike. My goal is to go on one a month but I keep forgetting until the last day. :)
I love the wooded parts of trails.

I love the trees freshly dusted with snow way on top of the mountains.

In the evening Nathan went to work, Alexis babysat and Tilly played with Ruth, who Alexis was babysitting. They are so cute together.

Week ending 3-24-19

Last Sunday: Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
I don't think she appreciated this hat. :) We had a great day. The weather was a beautiful spring day which made everyone in a cheery mood.

Nathan slept, but the rest of us had fun. :)
The boys listening to scriptures and soaking up some sun. In seminary they have to read the whole Doctrine and Covenants in the month of March for March Madness.
Madalyn and Makenna were reading a New Era article about temples and they looked them all up on the map. It was so sweet listening to Madalyn teach her little buddy all these facts about them.
I took Alexis, Kait, Kenna, Sam, Andy, and Tilly on a walk and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful Sabbath Day.

Kaitlyn took over her buddy's responsibility of making a St. Patrick's Day treat. (It was Kylie's half birthday so she always made a neat treat growing up.)
Kaitlyn made rainbow fruit cups (strawberries, oranges, bananas, kiwis, blueberries) with shamrock pretzels.
They took 3 hours but these 2 worked together really well.

I love watching Spencer play with Talea. He's the best big brother.

Tilly showing him where she got hurt.
Kaitlyn displaying the fruit cups among her paper hyacinths.
Tuesday: All 10 kids cleaning for family and friends coming.

These pictures look boring to you, but to me it captures a cherished memory. Music was playing and all 10 of my children were laughing, talking and cleaning together for one magical hour.
Cuddle time.

Drawing?? I'm not sure who took this or why. :)
Wednesday: Our good friends from NC came to visit!!!
Right after they left we went to Spencer's first outdoor track meet. The weather was in the 60's--so warm and sunny and we had a great time. Grandma came too (from Florida) and we had a lot of fun.
Saturday: Party for the Michigan March Madness game! Aunt Lori was here from Nashville and her favorite team is Michigan so of course we had to have a little party.
