Week ending 9-24-17

Monday: Nathan's dad took my little kids to the park so I could have a quiet house for an hour and get a few things done. I exercised, showered, blogged, and wrote a letter for financial aid for an orchestra trip for the older girls. Peepaw took these pictures. Looks like they had a great time with him.

Wednesday night I had a campfire with the kids. We sang songs and chatted and enjoyed the chilly fall weather. I cherish these times with my children.
Thursday after lunch we all went outside and played. I got a ride on the plasma car being pulled by Spencer and it was so much fun! Here Kylie gets a turn. I also jumped on the tramp and pogo sticked and just enjoyed the crisp air and being able to play and not be pregnant.
Our house.
Putting up decorations for our "Fall that's all" party. We put on our music, ate candy corn and apples, and danced a lot.
Talea watching the festivities from the couch in her fall outfit.

Friday: I took all 10 kids to the temple. My family was having a temple night in 7 different temples across the US and Korea (Trish teaches social studies in China) in honor of my dad. We had a really special time and everything worked out perfectly.
The nicest lady jumped out of her van and took a picture with me in it.
When we got home I put Talea in the swing to put the little kids to bed. When I came downstairs Alexis was talking to her as if she were her best friend. Talea was responding with cute smiles and coos.
Saturday: Talea in 1 of 2 longsleeved outfits she has in this size.
I don't want to get more b/c it might warm up and then she'll outgrow them.
We got this one for field trips where we all wear navy.
Practicing a musical number for the program.
It sounded super good today with a real mic. I'm posting it just for my kids' memories.

Sunday: I only have 4 kids in primary right now. Four in mutual, 4 in primary, and 2 babies.

Samuel's first program.
He sang a solo line in "We'll Bring the World His Truth" and had his part perfectly memorized.

Week ending 9-17-17

Last Sunday: Nathan's dad, PeePaw, stopped by for a visit. He is here from Florida for a work conference. He spent the afternoon with us, then went to visit other children and came back the next weekend to spend a couple of days. Funny that he came here when Spencer went there to see the hurricane. :) Here he cuddles his newest grandchild.
Spencer took this picture of the TV screen showing Irma's predictions.
Doing a puzzle and eating snacks.
The power went off Sunday night and came back on Monday afternoon. The worst of the storm went over them from midnight to 3am, so Spencer went out and played in it and videoed it. It wasn't as bad as he would have liked, but he sure enjoyed what he got.
Monday: Kait, Tom, and Kenna played a "Jack, Annie & Elizabeth" game where they were leaf girls going somewhere. (I don't get it, but that's what they said.)
They made a lot of accessories out of leaves.
Talea looking cute on the couch.

The damage done to Grandma and Peepaw's back yard

They just had $1500 worth of tree trimming done, but there were still plenty of broken branches.
All cleaned up!
The pile Spencer and Grandma collected.

Wednesday morning: Spencer's back!
The little boys adore him and clamored all over him when they saw him.

I love seeing my school room filled with six studying scholars.
Makenna was at the table doing an art book she won at the library.
The little boys were outside playing basketball.

Nathan got this picture as he was leaving for work at 9:30am.
It was supposed to be baby/toddler/preschool reading time but I got 3 grade schoolers too.
Having a cocktail party for history. We learned that Mrs. Walsh in St. Louis introduced them. We bought lots of little juices and had a good time.

Thursay: Samuel holding Talea.

Friday: After Kylie and Madalyn left for seminary and orchestra, Kaitlyn and Makenna got ready and "left" for their seminary and orchestra classes. They carry their scriptures, a backpack, and an instrument.
Getting on the elevator at school.
Getting off the elevator.
Playing primary because they didn't get to last Sunday. They're doing "Stand for the Right" in ASL.

Block creations they wanted me to take a picture of.
Samuel and Anderson driving under the piano.
Fake naptime.

Saturday: We went down to Springville for a Holladay family tailgating party.

I took pictures by the rustic red fence for the blog.

Andy scowls a lot and once a friend in the mother's lounge looked at him and told us to get the Scowl the Owl book. Haha. Here's one of his scowly faces.
He really wasn't in a mood to cooperate this time.

Makenna adores her big sister.

Matching sisters.

Sunday: We had a family gathering up here for Kylie's birthday and for everyone to hang out with Peepaw before he went back to Florida.

While we ate, Kylie put finishing touches on her grand piano cake.
Madalyn helped by making the sound board and tiny music.

The 6 oldest of the 8 kids. One is in Colorado and the other is in SLC on a mission.
Six sisters/sisters-in-law.
The cake is almost finished!
Six brothers/ brother-in-laws.

All done! Time to sing!

Aunt Ashley with Talea.

The kids playing with Uncle Morgan as usual.
Kylie opening her presents. Mama sent her a pedometer and we got her a gift card to Ross.
