Week ending 8-29-21 New trampoline, rugs, school cubbies, shoe bench, painting my room.

Last Sunday: Kylie spoke in Utah so we came home from our ward and watched her.
Monday: After our first day of school we put up the trampoline. It was so hot we put on swimsuits and sprayed each other with the hose while we worked.
A before picture. We gotta figure out what to do with this area. When it cools off we'll burn the brush and then figure it out. :)

Tuesday: I took Thomas on a bike ride as a belated Mommy date. It was super hot but otherwise we had a great time. We crossed several beautiful bridges and marveled at the scenery.

One of these docks had a fun slide into the water.

Another bridge with a gorgeous view.

Opening a new rug we bought. We're carpet people so it's been hard that it's been 3 months since we've been able to play games on the floor, sit in splits, and things like that.
Wednesday: Kaitlyn wanted me to take a picture of her jumping. All week the 5 little kids jumped on the tramp with the hose to stay cool. Can't wait for cooler weather!

We had a ward activity at a park and when we got there we saw a rainbow when there weren't any clouds or rain.

Kait, Kenna, and Tilly sleeping in the reading spot where the window unit is. It was so hot this week!
Thursday: I was calling the kids for school but how can I interrupt this? Samuel was reading to 3 siblings.

Kait was content with her book too.
Thomas faithfully doing his school.
This is why I homeschool. I love having them gather around the table and to be able to teach them and then do an activity with them. We are doing US History and today learned about the first people in Alaska before America was discovered.

After dinner we brought cookies to the Smith's. While I was talking to them on the porch Talea made herself at home on this rock, crossed her legs, and sang to herself. The rest of the kids ran around back to see their animals.
They have a lot of great views from their property.
The Smiths followed us home to cut a tree down that was in their cows' way and we all rode in the back of Ricky's truck around both of our properties.
Judy and Kaitlyn holding on the back while we zoomed around the pastures.

I'm sitting in the back corner and looked to my right to see Judy and Kait and to my left to see the other kids enjoying the ride.

Friday: Thomas doing some math online while helping Talea with her work book.
The rest of us were trying to build a school cubby shelf.
Finally done! We all have our own cubby and it'll be so nice!
Friday: The Smiths came over to check on a cow and gave the kids a ride in their golf cart. Rides are more fun than electronics around here. I love the farm life. Such pleasure in simple things.
Makenna helping me paint my room.

Saturday: Truck and golf cart wannabes. :) We wish we had a farm vehicle to drive around our property but we improvised and used our minivan to carry our lawnmower and tools to the end of the driveway and I let the kids ride with the back open since it wouldn't close on the mower handle.
Talea played happily by herself in the playroom while we did a lot of chores.
Our shoe shelf came!
Our old neighborhood gave us gift cards as a going away present and I finally found furniture to buy with them. I got the school cubbies and a shoe bench. We can get better organized now!
Putting it together.

Talea hurt her arm on the trampoline the day after I told the Smiths we've never gotten hurt on it before. She cried so much I gave her Tylenol and then she asked to take a nap on my bed while I painted.
Then I brought her downstairs but she laid on this rocker the whole night and would never get up b/c she said her arm hurt.
Samuel getting the place ready to put the shoe bench.
I should have taken a before with the humongous pile of shoes that stretched from the front door to Alexis' bedroom door.
Now I need to find a mirror to go above it. The only mirror we have is in our one bathroom.
Everyone gets their own cubby!
I forgot to take before pictures until after I'd already started priming. But here's my bedroom before. And there's a picture from June 13 when we first moved in and it still had the big curtains up.

After!
I love it! Now I want to get a log bed (found one on facebook super cheap and he said he'd bring it to me on Friday but he never showed and then sold it to someone else :( ) and some woodsy, hiking decorations.

Today: Rigged up a sling for Talea's arm so she'd be willing to go to church. The urgent care doesn't have xray on the weekends so I'll take her tomorrow unless she seems better. There's no swelling but she won't move it either.
