Week ending 4-25-21 Cleaning, Moana, and quilting

We had a great week doing the usual homeschooling, dejunking, crafts, and being in a play.
Last Sunday: Dinner with my 9 kiddos. I love having as many of them home as possible! It makes me so happy to have Sunday dinner with us all gathered around talking about what we learned or observed at church (i.e. what color tie did the bishop have?)

Monday: These are our desk drawers. We made these dividers out of diaper boxes when we moved in and will be sad not to have a community desk for us all to use at our new house. Hopefully we'll figure something out.

Mowing and pulling weeds.
I loved seeing Tilly and Ruth in their white dresses (after rehearsing a play), digging in the Summer's garden.
Ruth, Reuben, and Tilly playing with the chickens.

The boys' closet rod we're getting rid of.
Wednesday: The children performing Moana with the Summers.

Talea was baby Moana. Kaitlyn is the ocean under the blanket.

"Where We Are."

Alexis is Moana and Mary is a pig.
"How Far I'll Go."
"We Know the Way."

Talea at intermission.
Grandma Tala, Moana, and Hei-Hei.
"Song of the Ancestors."
Putting the heart back.
Finale.

Thursday: Going through doll clothes again. They have so many!
Bye-bye precious doll stuff. I'm afraid it will break in the move and we don't have a good room for it in our new house so the girls are going to sell it.
Friday: Peter, the garbage man, usually turns off his truck and talks to us when he comes to our house. Today he got out and we told him we were moving. He was so sad as we're his favorite family. We'll miss him too as we won't have garbage pickup in rural Virginia. Today he let us have a turn in his seat, honking his horn!

The storm that's hitting our new house.
Madalyn and Alexis were dog-sitting, the 3 little kids went to Nathan's, and Spencer & Thomas went to a friend's house for the evening so I got to have Kaitlyn and Makenna to myself! We had a quilting party. We watched Fixer Upper and made a quilt out of old baby clothes and doll clothes we don't want to get rid of.
Saturday: Thomas cleaned his room and took pictures of his games so he can throw them away. He made hundreds of little boxes for this cool board game a couple years ago.

The quilting continues... We spent the whole day in a mess of cutting and sewing scraps.
I got the top 3 rows sewn!!
Today: I forgot to take a picture of the top all done yesterday.

All my babies's precious clothes.

Week ending 4-18-21 Appointments, birthday, getting rid of things

A busy week with lots of babysitting, ortho appointments, a birthday, more well childs, band concert, and lots of getting rid of things. So many tender mercies though, through all the craziness. So grateful Madalyn was here on her spring break to help me run kids places and to hang out with! Spring term starts tomorrow.

Last Sunday: Someone took this of me typing my newsletter on Lexi's and Madalyn's bed.
It was a beautiful day so we hung out outside. Thomas made up a cool game with pine needles. I love watching my boys play together.
My girls happily reading.

Monday: Last picture before braces come off!!
All gone!! When she was there the assistant was calling her Kylie. Then when she walked in we all said she looked like Kylie. Later that night when Spencer saw her, he said she looked like Kylie. :)
Wednesday: Kaitlyn turns 11! Her birthday was a bit rushed b/c Madalyn and Alexis went to meet up with Maddie's roommates and the boys were going to YM. But she still had a great night.
Calligraphy pens.

Kait made a small cake and mostly did ice cream with candy toppings.

Kait's bowl I'm presuming.
Makenna made Kait's doll a pair of overalls.
Wednesday: I took this to show my friend who gave Tilly this nightgown to her when she was born.
Thursday: Kaitlyn wears the new outfit Mama got her for her birthday.

Alexis playing the oboe in a competition. They won superior rating and go on to state!

Friday: These pics are just for us to remember some of our stuff by.
These are the things I listed and sold this week: 2 student desks
Paper holder I made in my early 20's.
A various assortment of outdoor toys
My bed

My bookshelf
Saturday: Getting all the water out of the water bed. Alexis and Andy were big helpers.
Taking it apart.
All piled up ready to give to the guy who bought it.
