Miscellaneous May Pictures

First, some pictures of our sweet baby Kaitlyn:

Kaitlyn with Kylie and Madalyn's dolls.

First walk in the stroller without the carseat. I love our new stroller system.

Now, for some pictures of the rest of the family:

It's not even summer vacation yet, but the new cool thing to do is sleep on the floor.
Breakfast in bed on Mother's Day. My favorite: cereal with fresh strawberries on it. The kids did this all by themselves. The 3 girls wrote me sweet letters and my mom sent a necklace and M&Ms. The kids also brought me breakfast in bed the next Sunday on my birthday.

Thomas being cute.

Nathan lit 31 candles and we almost ended up with more wax than frosting on the cake. :)

Family Temple Trip

Last Saturday Nathan wanted to go to the temple to pray about a job offer he got last Thursday. I wanted to go to a stake RS event, but seeing as Friday night we had a date (and a wonderful one at that) and Nathan had to give his answer on Monday (besides, the temple is closed the next 2 weeks), I thought I'd better let him go. He wanted the family to come along, either for our company or to be able to ride in an air conditioned van instead of his sweltering no a/c equipped Geo. :) The kids haven't been in a year, so we all came along and tried to make it a fun family day. It wasn't all fun as there were some arguments and fits in the car and we didn't bring enough lunch. We played at a park and searched for a bathroom the majority of the time and tried to stay cool. I think I was the grumpiest because I was hot, tired, and hungry, but when we came back to the temple to pick up Nathan everyone was pretty cheerful. I took some pictures while I waited for him to come out and then he took some pictures while I was inside nursing Kaitlyn before the drive home. So we got quite a few pictures.

Spencer took this one of all 5 of us wearing our brown shirts and khaki pants.

A nice lady took these pictures and kept finding other places for us to pose until we were just too tired of smiling. She was really cute.

I love this action shot Nathan took while walking around with the kids.

Kaitlyn's Blessing

I've been trying to get these pictures on the blog all week but it's been hard to coordinate computer time with Kaitlyn sleeping and the 4 kids needing it for their research papers and French. So here are some pictures we took after church last Sunday. All of the children wanted their picture taken and posted with Kaitlyn, so that's why there are so many pictures.

I pulled out the blessing dress that my 3 sisters and I wore when we were babies and my other 3 girls wore for their blessing and it was clearly too worn to be worn anymore. Not sure what else to do, I quickly ordered this one off church distribution (for only $28!) and prayed that it would come in time. Luckily, it came last Friday. I love it and Kaitlyn looked beautiful in it.

Girls' Weekend

Friday night Nathan took the boys on the father/son campout. The girls and I were really excited to have some girl time. It was only an overnighter, not a whole weekend (we wished it were a whole weekend), but we called it our girls' weekend anyway.

Spencer and Thomas getting ready to go.

Driving away.

Friday night we didn't do much; just watched movies and had ice cream sundaes. Saturday morning we went to the little airport here and the older girls got to go on an airplane ride. It was only for ages 8 and up and they were so excited.
They always have to wear matching or coordinating outfits and hairstyles.

Alexis took this picture of us waiting for their turn.

A nice man who was laughing as he was watching Alexis trying to take a picture, offered to take one of all of us.

They rode in a little 4 seater plane with their very funny pilot and another little girl.

Afterwards we went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch with some free meal coupons from the summer reading program last year. It was so much fun just having the girls. They are so easy to please and enjoy every little thing. After that we stopped at Kohls to buy me a brown shirt so that I can match. We already ordered Lexi one from Old Navy and Kaitlyn even has one, so now we can all be matching. When Lexi gets hers we'll all wear them and I'll post pictures.

The girls were relieved that the boys weren't home yet so that we could continue "to party." :) We had ice cream popcicles and hung out together.

Our party ended when the boys came home at 2:00. However, it was fun to see how excited they were about their camping trip and tell us all the cool things they got to do. Both the girls and the boys tried to outdo each other in who had the better weekend. I'm glad we all had a great time.
