February Pictures

Where Samuel sleeps.
The first time I put him in here he slept 8 hours so he's been here ever since and has slept 8-10 hours every single night. I gave back the bassinet we borrowed from a friend and am happy the carseat doesn't take up much space. On the other hand I feel sad that we're not using the beautiful crib I got with money from a baby shower with Kylie. Nor are we using the cute boy bedding a neighbor gave me a few years back when we had a string of 3 girl pregnancies in a row. I'm excited to use it, but there's not exactly room for a crib in any of our 3 bedrooms. I've been anxious to get out of this 1600 sq foot house for 3 years but it doesn't look like we're leaving any time soon so I guess I'll just have to make the best of it. We don't have an adorable nursery but at least we have a baby who is a great sleeper.

Samuel is a super easy, happy baby. He wakes up at 7:45 every morning (or else I wake him up). Then he naps from 9-12. Then he's awake and happy for 2 hours. He naps again from 2-5. Then he has playtime again and cat naps from 7-8pm. He goes to bed at 10:15. He has brought me so much joy and I'm so grateful he's in our family. I feel like Heavenly Father has blessed me with an easy, adorable baby while I'm miserable about waiting for Nathan to find a job and hopefully upgrading our residence.

One week we got a few inches of sleet and then a few inches of snow. It was awesome. The roads were a mess and it closed the city down for a few days. One day Nathan took me out for a drive and I loved seeing our county covered in white. It was beautiful and I've always loved how rural it is here.

Another picture of our cute baby boy.

Some family pictures on our stillborn's birthday. We had a really nice family picnic and playtime at the tiny park close by and enjoyed the nice weather for early February. The kids were in great moods (always makes family outings more enjoyable:)) and wanted lots of pictures taken of them. Feel free to skip if you don't care.

Alexis in the waiting room at the Surgicenter with my sister, Lori, who came from Nashville to spend the week with us. Alexis had an oral ranula (see previous post) removed.

Being wheeled away to the operating room.

When we first saw her in recovery.

When she first woke up. She made the funniest faces. She was really scared or something.

Another snowstorm! At first it was just snow so it didn't stick to the roads or sidewalks. However, the next day we got some sleet and ice. I love living in a place where winter storms are a big deal and really exciting.
