An awesome friend from church was a guest speaker at our homeschool the day we studied Hawaii. She brought clothes, musical instruments, shells, etc. She told us LOTS of fascinating information and did a lot of work preparing for us. We loved it and really appreciated her.
This is a musical instrument.
Spencer making sushi rolls. Jenny brought all the ingredients for many different Hawaiian foods and we had a delicious lunch!
Thomas making and eating musabi. He loved it.
This picture goes back to the Sunday after Christmas. Nathan had taken 3 kids to Florida and I stayed home with 4 of the girls: Kylie, Madalyn, Alexis, and Makennna. We had a great time!
The girls doing their new art projects they got for Christmas. We spent that whole week scrapbooking, organizing, doing art projects, baking fun treats, and watching movies.
When they came back, they brought Aunt Sara! She is a professional pianist and I think we have a picture of nearly every baby on her lap at the piano.
One day we went to the library and checked out 159 books. As soon as we got home Sara proceeded to read each one of them. She didn't of course, but she read a lot! Can you think of a better way to spend an afternoon than being read to? What lucky kids!
Makenna wearing a helmet after playing outside.
Kaitlyn riding her training wheel bike we got at a free yard sale. She's really fast.
Another helmet picture; I guess they got out of order.
Makenna climbing the girls' bunk bed ladder. She loves to climb.
She climbed on the yellow toy, then the trunks, then my desk.
She was very pleased with herself. Every baby has loved my scrapbooking scissors
Kaitlyn driving Makenna around in the yellow truck.
I loved how Makenna sat. It was so cute watching them.
Thomas riding in Simon's jeep with Simon's little brother. He's wanted one of these for years and someday I want to buy him one. It's his favorite toy ever.
Again, pictures got out of order. This one should have been up there. They remind me of how well Kylie and Madalyn played together at these ages, only they were closer--16 months instead of 22 months apart.
Spencer getting "the most colorful car" award at the Pinewood Derby.
We just saw a snowflake!! We're ready to go play in the snow!
Madalyn is looking at flakes in her magnifying glass; Alexis is catching flakes on her tongue.
Spencer and Madalyn.
Notice Spencer's flip flops and Madalyn's thin sweatshirt. That's how prepared we are for snow.
Sleet on the deck.
The water in the ditch iced over.
Our van
Our deck the next morning after the sleet iced over. Very slippery!
I know these pictures aren't impressive, but since I wrote about the ice storm in my newsletter, I thought I'd include them. Afterall, we didn't get any snow last year and it could be our only winter storm this year. It was super exciting!!
Madalyn and a guy playing Anna and Grandpa in a movie trailer for the pageant. I'll put the link on here when it's finished. She did awesome, especially for shooting in a freezing cold attic and pretending it was 4th of July.
Again, pictures got out of order. I don't know why it keeps doing that. Here's a bush all iced over. I wish I took pictures of the big trees/forests. They were so gorgeous all sparkly and white.
