The Quietest Saturday Ever

My kids were feeling sick this week, but not too bad and I thought they were over it. The music academy was having a yard sale this morning so we got up early and I took them to have a little outing. I got everyone a donut to be supportive. The girls had all brought their coin purses. After 10 minutes everyone said they were ready to go home. My girls usually want the junkiest of junk at yard sales and are willing to pay top dollar for it, so I thought it was odd that they didn't find one thing they wanted. Not even a mention of it. In fact, all the children were silent as we quickly browsed. So we left and got home conveniently in time for Nathan to take the car to a missionary meeting instead of getting a ride. The kids played with a neighbor. After lunch they all crashed. And crashed and crashed. The whole day was very quiet. Hardly a word from anyone. Nathan did patient notes on our home computer all afternoon and evening and probably thinks this is what my daily life is like. He'll never believe me the next time I tell him I'm exhausted from taking care of the kids and house all day.

I didn't mean this picture to be first. He joined them for only a catnap.

Spencer sleeping on the couch all day.

Thomas asleep on the floor as soon as Nathan kicked him off the computer after lunch.

Madalyn asleep in the reading spot.

Kylie reading multiple chapter books in one day.

Alexis read for a long time then asked for a snack so we made granola. The only talking that went on all afternoon.

Kaitlyn took two long naps and in between played with a balloon. How noisy is a balloon? Pretty quiet.

I was on my computer all day, researching curriculum for our school next year, so I was quiet too. I got tons done!

What was your Saturday like?

WOW! That IS quiet? What is quiet? I've forgotten? :)

Our Saturday was busy and VERY loud. We went to the Museum of Life and Science in Durham. Apparently so did 1/2 the state. :) (Besides the fact that it just isn't a quiet place to begin with!)

I don't mean all those to be questions. Some of them were supposed to be exclamations! :)

I took 4 of our children to a pioneer museum to do crafts for an hour and that wiped me out for the rest of the day. Phew.

Saturday was spent helping to get Sarah's boys ready to travel from Roy to Provo to attend and help at Hannah's reception. Best part of the day was seeing/visiting with all of our Florida connections as it relates to family and friends. After the reception, Sarah's boys helped me mop the gym floors...funny pics of them with pants rolled up, pushing the mop and bucket. Sorry that all were not well and that you had such a quiet day. BTW, I read blogs, don't write often. Love the current photo of the beautiful family. "Aunt" Fran
