Monday: First day of school in our new house. Having our lunch break.
Wednesday: baths for the 4 younger kids in my jet tub.
Thursday: scrubbing the tile floors.
Spencer spontaneously organized a cleaning party. The dirt marks from the previous tenants were getting to him so he started cleaning and invited others to join him one by one.
These 3 didn't join in till later. Here they are working on school in the school room. (We have yet to figure out furniture/desks so for now each child has his/her pile of books on the floor.)
Alexis showing off the crumbs of her magic eraser. She worked hard!
Spencer and Nathan played chess that afternoon.
Already stocked up on library books.
Samuel wearing the strainer that was going to be used for a biology experiment.
Watching it snow.
Boys raiding the pantry. They'd had the door closed; wonder what they were sneaking. :)
Friday: A beautiful winter wonderland.
There was already snow on the ground when we got here and it didn't melt all week, so we weren't excited for more. Nobody here seems to care if it snows; life goes on unlike North Carolina where snow is a big deal. But I had to admit I loved it Friday with everything covered in white. It was gorgeous.
I loved all that white above the playground.
And all these white trees too.
Doing school.
Friday afternoon: Kaitlyn and Makenna read to their babies in front of the fire.
And warm their toes and eat skittles.
Saturday: first family movie night. We're not too happy about the 50 book limit at our library but we're happy about free movies.
Sunday after church.
Taking their dolls to church. They said it was raining and the plastic boxes on their dolls is so that they don't get wet.
Goofing off with Anderson who is constantly chewing on his hands. I picked up an apple slice and he loved it. I guess it's his first solid food, but not officially.
After the younger kids were in bed these ones go through the hymn book and decide how to lead all the hard songs.
That's our first week in our new house!! It was a great one. It was hard homeschooling right away because I didn't have time to get much done around the house, but I'm glad we did because it helps the kids feel back to normal. It's nice to be in our usual routine and have a stable life again. I can't believe we're here and the move and holidays are all over. We've been blessed.
