Monday: Spencer being the hero and getting a wasp in the window.
Tuesday: After a summer of not grocery shopping much with various kids gone various weeks and eating breakfast and lunch at the school, and then waiting a month to get on food stamps, we finally did a huge grocery shopping trip. I love empty cupboards, eating all our old food, and being creative in fixing dinners, but the kids were so excited to have all their favorites back, they took pictures.
Wednesday: Kylie and Madalyn have music, seminary, and French at school now so Kaitlyn and Makenna play "going to school" every day They get their scriptures and instruments and walk down the street and back to school. I love my little kids imitating my older kids and having them for their heroes.
Thursday: Andy-Man's birthday! We went outside to say good bye to Daddy leaving for work and Anderson discovered the edger. He loves tools.
Kylie, Madalyn, and Spencer were at school, so I took the 6 younger kids to the park for lunch. Anderson hates his car seat, but loves to stand up in it and grab the handle and light before I wrestle him and buckle him in.
Eating lunch at the park. We were the only ones there and had a great time. It was cloudy but a tad muggy and reminded me of North Carolina, so I was in a great mood.
Alexis took good care of her buddy on her birthday and played with him all day.
Chasing the ducks. :)
Never too young to have tickle fights!
Hugs!
Anderson dropped some of his tamale and this one duck came over and ate it right up, then wouldn't stop pecking our feet.
Until Samuel started chasing it, hoping to pick it up.
Thursday night: Alexis wanted a buddy picture before cake but Andy wouldn't quite cooperate.
I made brownies with frosting for his cake. We put a piece in a bowl for him and started singing to him but he started crying and reached for Nathan to hold him. Then we finished the song and gave him a bite and put him in his chair to let him dig in.
He prefers spoons and is actually a relatively neat eater. He didn't make a mess with his cake until the very end when he played in it a bit and rubbed it in his hair.
Alexis was so excited for her buddy's birthday. She celebrated with a huge brownie sundae for herself.
Getting washed off.
We had him in the living room to open presents, but he quickly walked away. Alexis had gone all out with his presents, wrapping up his favorite snacks and household things he reaches for all the time like the salt shaker and a medicine bottle (both empty). She also picked out bubbles and soft balls for him and made him a neat card with a pull out box in it full of Cheerios.
You may have to click on the picture to see how much Anderson loved the vitamin bottle and wouldn't let Nathan take it from him to open another present.
Escaping again from opening presents.
Alexis opening a present for him while he guards his vitamin bottle.
While I tucked in the little kids, Nathan took him outside to play.
Toddlers picking up big balls are so cute.
Friday night we tried again and this time he was much more interested in his presents and knew what to do.
Opening his bubbles.
He was so cute swinging it around.
His very own salt shaker. (We gave him our old one and got a new one.)
Sunday: Alexis playing primary and teaching a song in sign language. (I'm the primary chorister and we're learning a song in sign language. Whatever I do at church, she goes home and does with the kids. They really have about 5 hours of church each Sunday.:))
The nursery class.
