Last Sunday we went to the trek fireside from 6-7pm and got to see the video that was made about it. As soon as we got home we changed the little kids into pajamas, packed up last minute things, and Aunt Lori and 7 kids drove away at 7:30pm. They drove 10 hours through the night and arrived in Pine Grove, CA at 4:45am local time. I'm so glad they made it safe (Kylie drove the first half, Lori the second) and are having a great time. When they come back I'll have to post their pictures.
Alexis running down the street, waving, with Talea.
More daddy time! (with only 3 kids at home)
Monday morning.
We had a great week. Nathan took the car to work everyday and the 4 of us stayed home. Everyday at lunch we ate in the living room and watched 2 episodes of a show about quintuplets. I had made a pan of brownies for Sunday dinner before the kids left and there was still over half the pan left, so Alexis and I made a brownie sundae after lunch every day. There is still 1 left for each of us for tomorrow. :) After lunch Andy went down for his nap, Talea got up, and we read, talked, or got things done (like going through the mail cupboard, writing in baby books, etc) until Andy got up at 3. Then we played with him and hung out till dinner. Except for Monday and Tuesday Nathan stayed late at work, so it was a long evening, but we tried to come up with things to do.
Monday's outfit
I loved being able to put her on the couch to nap beside me instead of upstairs in her bassinet.
When the kids come home there won't be room on the couch--kids are always reading, jumping, or making forts there. :)
Tuesday morning we went to the ward pancake breakfast.
Talea was wide awake and so good just to sit there in her seat the entire time.
Our bishop cooking the pancakes. He was sooo fast, it was fun to watch him.
Alexis and Andy in the little children's parade.
Trying to find him something to do until it was time to see the fireworks.
We sat on the grass on a hill overlooking the valley to watch all the fireworks--thousands of them all over--until the sprinklers went off.
She was so good the entire time.
We fit perfectly in the car with Alexis sitting between the 2 carseats.
Wednesday's outfit.
I love looking at her tiny feet and bum.
Thursday: going for a walk. The lunch and walk were my favorite parts of each day. Every morning at 8:20 I took the 3 kids for a walk. I loved talking with Alexis and getting out. The whole week was 102 so it was the only time we went outside.
Anderson loves this water wheel (behind us) so we always walk there first and watch the water.
Thursday's outfit.
Alexis was great to play and help with Andy as well as hold Talea when she was awake. Besides that she played the piano, her oboe, and read 14 books (some were super easy chapter books).
Friday: Every morning we ate breakfast outside before going on our walk.
It's super hard to see, but there is a mama quail and these itty bitty babies in the corner of our yard. The babies are against the right wall.
You'll have to click on these, but there are 6-7 babies if you can find them!
Friday's outfit. I guess I didn't get any of Talea by herself.
Meanwhile in CA Mom and Lori had taken my kids swimming with extended family.
Saturday: Alexis wanted to see if Talea could fit into her preemie doll outfit. We had originally gotten this outfit for Anderson, but when we found out he was a boy, I gave it to Lexi for her baby doll.
Another doll onesie Alexis tried to squish Talea into.
Sunday: coming home from church.
Alexis took these pictures while I put Andy down for his nap.
Alexis got to take Talea to primary while I played the piano in Relief Society.
It was her last Sunday in primary! Next week she'll be a young woman!
