Week ending 7-17-22 Nature school, Lexi's birthday, youth conference

Monday: While Kait, Kenna and Andy were at their SEE class I took Sam and Tilly hiking at Pilot Mountain because it was a nice cool, no humidity day. We had a great time and Tilly wanted her picture taken all over the place and wanted to take my picture too. I would have done our hair better if I'd known. :)

Where we sat for lunch and nature school.
Doing the ninja warrior course we made up.

Kait and Kenna took a yoga/gratitude journal class and put positive notes all over the house.
Alexis making her cake for tomorrow. Step 1: make oreo truffles.
Tuesday: Happy 17th Birthday, Alexis! She made egg and bacon and sausage breakfast sandwiches for breakfast.
I went for a walk on the greenway after dropping off the kids at SEE and love the scenery along on it. I should take more pictures.
Step 2 was making brownies. Step 3 was making chocolate cake. Step 4 was making caramel sauce. Step 5 was making frosting. Then she put it all together and got a beautiful chocolate cake with oreo truffles and brownies around the edges and caramel sauce dripping over it.
First is presents. The only picture I got is Lexi reading the card Kaitlyn made for her. I gave her a watch, pens and pencils, all things she needs for college and can fit in her suitcase. :)

I loved Tilly covering her ice cream so it wouldn't melt while waiting for cake.:)

The best part of the day was getting to talk to Kylie, Madalyn, and Spencer at the same time.
Wednesday: Thomas and Alexis went on a youth trip to Palmyra, Niagra Falls, Erie Canal, and Kirtland. I had a good time with the 5 little kids for 4 days. Here they're eating Lexi's leftover cake.
I was going to send this to Lexi saying they're eating all her cake but I didn't.
During a thunderstorm when the sun was setting the whole yard was pink. It's hard to see from the pictures but it was super cool.

For the past few months Samuel has had 6 teeth out and Makenna 5. When Makenna pulled out a very wiggly tooth and caught up to him, he quickly yanked out a sorta wiggly tooth so he's still ahead by one! Even though he's 20 months younger.
Thursday: We went to a sprayground with a new friend.
Friday: We did a lot of yard work every morning including mowing/trimming the driveway, trimming branches in front of the house, weeding the garden, getting bugs off plants, mowing the backyard, and picking lots of blueberries.

Then we came in and cleaned out our school notebooks and cubbies. With my mom and BYU kids coming May 9 and not leaving till June 7 we never did have a last day of school party and organize portfolios. Summer got busy with camps and SEE classes so we finally finished school on Friday and called it a year! Just in time to start another year. We're starting on Monday because it's so hot and that way we can take off all of October when we're itching to go hiking and play all day.
I loved how these 2 spent an hour looking at Samuel's science notebook and talking about what they'd learned.

Picking up Alexis and Thomas from youth conference. They were on the middle bus.
I love those two other youth just staring at Lexi's 3 little sisters jump on her and hug her excitedly. I heard them say their siblings would never greet them like that.
