Miscellaneous Ipod Pictures

One day our LDS homeschool friends (3 girls) stopped by when they were in town. We were comparing heights so we got a height-ordered picture.

Have no clue who took this one.
We cleaned out closets and Alexis bravely parted with lots of her cardboard and paper creations. She took a picture (lots actually) of her stuff before throwing it away. Here is a sample of her paper earrings. All those little earrings are taped onto the paper and she selects a pair and tapes them to her ears. She made them for Kaitlyn and Makenna too.

Injuries, Real and Imagined
Makenna's cast after she got a tiny scratch on her arm. Kaitlyn made this for her as her loving big sister.

Spencer took these of his leg injury, jumping from the trampoline up to the wooden platform of the swingset, but missed.

Playing doctor one afternoon. The string and ring toys are the IVs. Alexis was the doctor in this case.
A view of some of the hospital patients.

My Birthday 5/16

I'm into dark chocolate right now, so I made a dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate frosting I made up myself and turned out delicious, then put dark chocolate Doves around the bottom and dark chocolate chips and curls on the top. Yum!

It was supposed to say 36 but someone put the '3' in backwards.
Upside down it looks like 93. Haha.

Camping

Ward Campout 4/24-25
As I mentioned in a previous post, Nathan took 5 kids to the ward campout while I took 3 kids to Virginia Beach to meet the General Auxiliary leaders. We took the camera and I posted our pictures; he took the ipod and here are his pictures.
Heading out. Nathan took these 5 plus a boy with a less-active dad.

"Do I really want to go camping with Daddy? I'm not sure about this place."
I've never sent a baby under 2 camping without me, but Samuel LOVES the outdoors and I knew he would just walk around in lala land. He's super flexible/adaptable wherever he goes and is easy to put to bed. I knew he'd have no problem without me as he's just happy to go someplace new. Meanwhile, I knew my trip to VA beach and the leadership meeting with Sister Oscarson would be easier without him.
A look inside a cabin.

I just remembered I did post the pictures a friend took of the kids playing on the tire swings. So those would also belong here.

Father/Son Campout 5/8-9

Selfies while watching the boys play basketball. From all the pictures, it looks like they all had fun on both camping trips. I'm glad Nathan isn't working so that he had time to take these trips and create wonderful memories. Other years he had to miss out.

Family Home Evenings

FHE 4-27-15
Playing the tape on nose game. Everyone puts a piece of tape on his nose and then tries to get each other's tape. When you lose your tape, you're out. When you get someone's, you go get someone else's until you have everyone's. Then you're the winner. It only takes about 2 minutes, so it's a super fast, fun game that has everyone laughing.

The last two contestants for this round are Thomas and Madalyn. I think Thomas ends up with all the tape on his nose.
I know spring was ending, but Thomas was treats and he chose to make pilgrim hats for no particular reason. We happened to have all the stuff and they turned out cute.

FHE 5-25-15
Memorial Day. We went to Julianne's grave in Fountain, but first we ate a dinner picnic at the park, played on the playground for activity, and ate eclairs for treats.
Walking around the wooden playground frames we always walk on when we go there.

Hilarious. We had to take a picture. It totally made our night.

Catching Up

Nathan took our camera to the father/son campout and left it there (on a picnic table but it survived a tropical storm, yeah!) and we just got it back. So now I'm posting pictures that were on it and also ones we took with the ipod while we didn't have the camera. The ipod ones are pretty fuzzy, but since they're all we have to remember these good times, I'm posting them anyway. Instead of chronologically, I'm posting by topics.

First category: Miscellaneous pictures from the camera.
Eureka! A park with enough swings for all 8 kids! Cool!
Nathan took these pictures and it's hard to see all of the kids, but they're all in age order. They love playing rocket on them. They say, "Ready for take off" and "approaching the speed of sound" and things like that. They have a blast when we go there.

Kaitlyn, Kylie, and Kenna wearing pink shirts and turquoise leggings.
Samuel and his cute hat. None of these pictures did him justice. It's so hard to take the perfect picture of an 18 month old on the run. I'll have to try again another time.

Elder Fallabella came to our stake conference on May 3. It was held at Minges Coliseum, which was fun. Here Elder Fallabella talks to Samuel while Spencer looks on.

It's so rare to have Samuel fall asleep in arms anymore, so this was a treat.

Alexis's edible play dough picnic.
