We had a really good week. We kept busy with school, chores, friends, playtime, extended family time, scheduled one-on-one time, pageant practice, and a little outside play even though it was cold. It felt like a really balanced week. Usually it's just school, chores and family play. It was nice to have a variety of social activities too.
Monday: A different way to read on the couch. Kids are so funny.
We had FHE at our bishop's house. For activity we rode their horses. We've had pony rides at the pageant a couple of years ago but we haven't ridden horses before. It was a lot of fun.

Brownie sundaes and banana splits in their basement. They had 5 huge tubs of ice cream and lots of toppings. And these cute apple juice bottles that my kids loved.
Madalyn's favorite kind is mint.
Tuesday: More snow!
On his way to the front window to take more pictures, Spencer tries to torment his sister by taking a picture of her wall sitting. He took some other goof-off pictures but I'll save time and not post them.
View out the front door.
Samuel sitting on the back of the couch, watching it snow.
Wednesday morning: Anderson doing his army crawl. I love crawling babies!
He's almost got the real crawl down, but not quite yet. Probably this week.
Spontaneous reading party by the fire when they were supposed to be doing school.
Spencer drilling holes into Tom's pinewood derby car to put weights in it.
Going to the Pinewood Derby.
Thomas's first one! Will it be a winner?
Waiting for it to start. We only got there a couple minutes early but were the first participant there.
We took up a fourth of the seats. At the blue and gold dinner last month there were 4 tables set up and we took up one of them. Haha. I like a small pack though.
Very neat electronic track. Tom's car was going down it, but it's hard to see.
Unfortunately the car was not a winner, but Thomas is a winner for good sportsmanship. He was cheerful and positive even though we didn't find out about the derby until the day of.
Thursday: Easter Egg hunt at the Ashby's house. Before they started getting eggs the kids played on the trampoline (in ground are what everyone has here!) and basketball court.
Samuel and Alexis picking up eggs.
Picnic lunch of pizza.
Saturday morning: The Easter Bunny came! Each of the kids have a color of egg that is "theirs" when they play with them. They left them out on the stairs to see if the bunny would fill them. I snapped this picture on my way up with the camera to get the kids in the girls' room.
The view when I stopped and turned around.
The kids waiting in the girls' room.
Getting their baskets which were lined up in the hallway.
In lining up to go downstairs, Samuel fell down a few steps and everyone looked over to see what happened.
Coming down!
Finding candy in our new living room.
Peeps camouflaged in the tree.
Samuel
There were 2 bird peeps and 9 little Robin's eggs in the bird house.
At 10:00 Nathan took the 6 older kids to the pageant practice. I put Anderson down for his nap and let Samuel and Makenna eat their Easter candy and a container of fruit on the kitchen floor so that I could ride my exercise bike.
Saturday afternoon: Alexis and I made bunny bread.
Kylie made a giant peanut butter cup
That night the bishop's family dropped off baskets of hand-me-downs for us as well as this fancy Easter Basket. Sister Nelson is one of the most generous people ever. Every time we baby-sit she brings us treats like candy or donuts. When my kids played at her house on Friday she sent them home with a giant bag of caramel popcorn. And now this!
Checking out the egg viewers.
Easter Sunday: Nathan and some of the kids went to his sister's baby blessing in the morning, then our church, then back to SLC for a blessing luncheon. In the afternoon I only had the 4 little kids. Kait, Kenna, and Sam went crazy trying on the hand-me-downs, so Anderson is the only one I got Easter pictures of. Not that we had Easter clothes or even matched. We match every Sunday except Easter. :) But Andy had this little vest in the box of clothes that matched his church pants and fit him perfectly. So at least he looked nice!
Laugh turning into a crying shriek.
