Week ending 1-29-17

Sunday: Goofing off on a Sunday evening.
Samuel.
Monday: Goofing off after lunch. I LOVE homeschooling because they spontaneously goof off, bond, hang out, laugh, tickle, tell stories, talk about the weather or news, make cookies, and much more. I wouldn't trade these moments for anything. This day we were cleaning up lunch when a few kids started the stack up game and then a few more joined in, then a few more. It was loud and full of laughter so I came over out of curiosity to find this and had to grab my camera.

Andy torturing his biggest brother.
I switched to this side to avoid the windows but I love how you can see Andy scratching Spencer's neck and yanking on his hoodie.
Getting settled.

Thursday: I walked into the living room after tucking some kids in bed and found just these two. Anderson is into copying everything we do. It's adorable. Andy especially loves his buddy, Alexis. I'm glad she's such a great role model for him.

Friday. Someone got into my mascara.

Anderson playing this plastic marble run piece like a kazoo.
He ran around the house humming and singing into it.
I asked if I could take a picture of his pants and he froze in the middle of driving his motorcycle. So this picture will remind me of the motorcycle stage (I hope it's just a stage) where he runs around driving a motorcycle the whole entire day.

Can you tell these are his favorite pants? He fills the pockets up with his stuff and wears them almost every day. They're size 24 months and going on the second winter of wearing them. I guess I won't save them for Andy who is almost 24 month size.

Week ending 1-22-17

Tuesday: Anderson helps me clean out the oven.
He was so good at getting paper towels, scrubbing the oven, and throwing them away.
That is, until he saw an empty juice box in the garbage.
After that, he held on to it while he scrubbed.
Wednesday: Samuel and Anderson singing in the tub.
Then I heard crying and went down to the basement to find Thomas bent over with toilet paper pressed to the back of a bleeding head.

And a huge puddle of blood on the floor.

Everyone was really excited as we love injuries.
Thomas was really brave and said it didn't hurt that much. Apparently he and Spencer were goofing off and chasing each other when Thomas flopped back on his bed to avoid being spanked by Spencer and hit his head on the chair rail where it ends by the window.
His head was a mess of blood and hard to find where the bleeding was even coming from.

I took him to urgent care and the nurse used this little syringe to try to wash it, but it didn't do any good.
On the bottom of the photo you can see where the hair was still stuck to his scalp. The nurse gingerly picked through it, certain there was another cut under there. Evenutally she got it washed up and it was just the one little cut, less than an inch long.

Waiting for the P.A. to come in after getting really cold trying to wash his hair.
The tiny stapler putting in the staples.
Three staples.
When we got home Makenna and Samuel were playing Nativity. Makenna was an angel and Samuel was Joseph.
I'm not sure who took this one.
Thomas took a shower and cleaned out his hair. Now it's easier to see the 3 staples.
Thursday: The joys of homeschooling! Stopping in the middle to enjoy spontaneous hot chocolate when the snow started falling.

Friday: Another sponatenous break to watch the snow. I came into the dining room to find all 9 kids watching the huge flakes.
And being silly. I love them goofing off together. It makes my  heart sing.

The beginning of the snow accumulation. We got 6+ inches by the next morning.

Samuel looking handsome outside.
Saturday morning I woke up to find Sam with a girly robe on, his hat, and his backpack full of junk. He sleeps with his hat and toys lots of nights.
They wanted me to take a picture of them both with their own bowls, own boxes of Cheerios, and own gallon of milk.
