Monday, the day after Christmas, we had all of Nathan's family over for lunch and games. Here everyone is playing a jellybelly game where you're given a jellybelly and it's either really good (like strawberry smoothie) or really gross (like dog food, rotten eggs, stinky socks.)
Kaitlyn trying one. Is it good or gross? If it's gross, the player usually went running for the garbage. It was hilarious.
Samuel and cousin Annabelle watching pbs kids under the piano on the old, cracked ipod.
Uncle Morgan is generously lending Alexis his oboe. He brought it and gave her her first lesson.
Monday during lunch break Spencer and Thomas rode their bikes in the snow, making bike paths.
A beautiful, snow-covered tree. It looked better in person.
Tuesday: Thomas and Anderson were so cute sitting by each other playing the piano until Andy turned and looked at the camera.
Tuesday morning we woke up to a bunch more snow. We had a total of 15" including all the snow we got on Christmas and the days in between.
Anderson hanging out on the stairs with a bottle of lotion.
Thursday: I came down the stairs to see Makenna and Kaitlyn eating an early breakfast with Madalyn, who was off to band at 7:15am. I noticed they even had their dolls up and dressed and eating breakfast with them.
Wednesday night Thomas and Alexis made this pink and blue cake. They spun it while I closed my eyes and whatever side I cut into would tell if the baby is a boy or girl.
I cut into the pink side. It's a girl!!
Then we had a nice, cozy reading party.
Thursday I took 4 kids to the ultrasound--the ones who wanted to find out from my doctor. Then we came home and filled a pinata with candy and let the other 5 kids hit it. They wanted to find out from the pinata.
Spencer gives it a good whack.
Pink candy!! It's a girl!!!
(We think. The doctor said she's had bad luck lately telling the gender and the baby's legs were crossed, but she says girl. I'll have another ultrasound Feb. 6 and hopefully we can tell for sure then.)
Thursday night: I wasn't there for this, but it looks like Andy got into the flour while Alexis and Nathan made dinner.
Wearing Daddy's juggling ring. Every child has used this for a halo.
