We had a really busy week. Monday we finally closed on our NC house. Hooray it's sold! We only made a whopping $4,000. So sad, considering the housing market is doing really well there. If it were in good condition we could have sold it for a lot more, but since we lived in it for 2.5 years without a job and then had renters for 2 years, it's in a sorry state. We haven't had money to keep it up, which makes me sad because when Nathan had a good job there I took such good care of it and fixed anything as soon as it broke and kept the landscaping really nice. It's amazing how fast things can deteriorate when neglected.
Anyway, I'm so glad it's off our hands now. Monday Nathan's parents visited us before flying back to Florida. We got snow in the morning and some cool clouds. Wednesday I was issued a call to serve as 1st counselor in RS. Friday we cleaned, baked, got haircuts (from me and a relative), did school, and got things ready for Kaitlyn's baptism. Saturday was a flurry of temple choir and orchestra practices, Kaitlyn's baptism and then hanging out with family afterward at our house.
Monday: Spencer had Madalyn take all these and plenty more. We love storms. There aren't nearly enough here. We miss the South.
The rain and hail coming down.
One side of the sky was completely dark and the other was blue sky with puffy clouds.
Eleven of us needed haircuts before the baptism.
Makenna's hair after being cut.
Kaitlyn before.
Kaitlyn after.
Thomas wanting a new do. He's had a bowl cut since he was a baby.
His hair was so long! I was just waiting for a day when everyone was home, at least all 5 boys so that I could cut them all in one shot.
Lori, what do you think? You're always commenting on his hair in blog posts. :)
Alexis
I'd already started cutting the right when I remembered to take a picture.
This picture doesn't look very good, but her haircut actually looks really cute.
Wednesday: Kylie practicing. Not sure who took this one or why, but I don't take enough of my kids playing their instruments.
Makenna and Samuel doing school.
After lunch I took the kids swimming for the first time in years. It's just too expensive with a large family. In Dallas it was $1. I wish it were in Utah. Lucky for us though, we qualified for a group rate of $4 a person and the little kids were free. We all love to swim and we had a great time. It's a shame we don't go more often. Everyone was well behaved and helped with the little kids and I wasn't stressed or anything.
Alexis liked how she caught Andy's face as he plunged into Talea.
This pool was 2-4' so it was kinda boring, but we ended up having fun doing surfboard rides and handstands and just goofing off.
Saturday: Kait the Great gets baptized!
Madalyn took all these nice pictures while I was feeding Talea.
These two are best friends.
Hanging out after the baptism.
Kaitlyn's primary teacher.
Having a ravioli lunch afterward--Kaitlyn's choice.
I loved watching and listening to Spencer tell cousin Lily all about a hurricane.
Sunday: Anderson fell asleep on the way home from church and Spencer plopped him on the couch here.
I opened the garage door and saw a cute silhouette of Samuel sitting on Nathan's trunk and drinking a water bottle.
Nathan took this one of the pretty trees.
