Holladays' week 7-8-18

We had a great week celebrating the 4th of July with neighbors and then with family in California.
Monday night: 4th of July party with our neighbors. We snacked and talked in the backyard and then moved to the cul-de-sac for the fireworks. We love our neighbors/ward members. We feel so grateful to be renting the house we are and to be living in this ward.
Terrible picture but we don't have any others of her.

Our awesome ward members/neighbors.

Tuesday morning: Off to California! Kylie starts out driving with Madalyn in shotgun.
Kait, Tilly and I ride in the front row seats.
Lexi, Andy, and Tom ride in the middle row with Spencer, Sam, and Makenna in the back.
So glad we have a nice big van to take! It was our first big trip in it and it was so much fun. Google said 10 hours and we made it in 10 hours 10 minutes with just 2 quick stops for gas. Kids were perfect the whole time. It couldn't have been better.
Wednesday: 4th of July breakfast at the church where I grew up.

After Talea's morning nap we went to Pioneer Park for a carnival. It's a park where my brothers would have baseball games when they were kids. I haven't been there in so long! The weather was in the 70's, there were lots of big trees and it was a lot of fun being with my mom, and 2 sisters.
Samuel and Kaitlyn ready for the watermelon eating contest.
Go Kait go!
Go Makenna!
Kaitlyn doing the dunk booth. We've never been to a carnival before and I was surprised she wanted to do this.
The girl just missed hitting the red target.
This was the table we ate at and set our stuff while the kids ran off and did the carnival games.
Samuel trying to ride the goat at the petting zoo.
It's hard to see but I tried taking a picture of Thomas on the dunk tank but he got sunk right when I took it. I thought he and Kaitlyn were brave to be the dunkee.
Thomas after dropping into that dirty water.
The girls playing with my mom's Ginny dolls.

Alexis and Madalyn reading on the porch swing.
Kylie and Kaitlyn.
This reading party in the beautiful 70's weather was the best!
Aunt Trish
Sam, Andy, and Makenna played waffle blocks in the back yard.
Thursday: Trish's birthday. Here Lori makes her a delicious chocolate cake.
Trish and Makenna make ice cream.
Spencer hangs out in the hammock.

Isn't this the best life? Hanging out with family (my 10 kids plus 2 of my sisters and my mom), celebrating a birthday, and enjoying the serene property.
The boys running around on their motorcycles.

Saturday: stacking firewood.
During the day we worked in the yard, cleaned a little inside, and went to the pool one day. Friday night my mom and sisters took some of the kids to a play in a tiny neighboring town. The other evenings we watched movies and hung out. What a great week!
