Week ending 2-9-20

Last Sunday: It got up to 63 degrees!
I made homemade pudding with raw milk that turned out so good. I've never liked pudding before but probably because it's so fake and processed. But with raw milk and organic cocoa it was delicious. We put it in cups with little groundhog heads (Halloween candy like tootsie rolls and small candy bars) sticking out for Groundhog's Day. It was forecasted that it was now spring and it sure felt like it but the next day, not so much.
When we woke up there was snow coming in our door.
And 8-12" in most places. It was blowing so the snow was pretty uneven, but it did dump an hour or two all night and then flurries all day.

Only a high of 23. Forty degrees cooler than the day before.
All day the temp dropped down to 10 degrees.

Almost a foot of snow blew up against our door by lunchtime.
Talea said, "Take a picture of me sitting in this wittle chair."
Makenna and Madalyn got their birthday package from Mama!
Going over to the Summers to play.
From my bedroom window it looked like a whole foot on the roof but the picture doesn't show it.

I took this to show my brother who just moved away from Utah how much snow we got. He loves the snow and is so bummed he missed it, although I heard his town only got 2 inches.
These are Salt Lake City's stats.

The pictures don't look like much, but the dusk view was awesome. So much snow!

Almost a full foot on the trampoline. (I held up my arm to compare.)

It was just over the top of the ruler, so 13" all over our backyard.

Tuesday: I did a 5 minute photo shoot in the 20 degree weather with Makenna for her baptism pictures. Then we looked at them and did another 5 minute shoot in front of a different tree. I think they all turned out cute. You can click on them and then scroll through.
It was hard not to squint with the sun reflecting off the snow.

The mess we made making stuffed shells for Madalyn's birthday dinner as well as her lemon bundt birthday cake. Kaitlyn and I had a great time.

I got her a small frying pan, brush pens, and a spatula.

The cake turned out perfect and we were so glad because it was a tricky cake!
Alexis got heart attacked by the YW because she has skipped out and stayed home with Madalyn.

Wednesday: Madalyn was sick so these boys (including a neighbor) made her lunch and carried it upstairs to her. Somehow it made it without being spilled. :)
Spencer walked in at 5:00 just as we were sitting down to eat and took it upon himself to shovel the trampoline before the heavy snow ruined the springs. He's a really good kid.
Thursday: Andy and Tilly were so cute sitting in the desks watching the snow plow after we got another inch or two.

We went for a walk around the neighborhood to get out of the house because we didn't have much going on this week. She was adorable in her boots and jean skirt even if it was on backwards. :) I love going on walks with Talea or taking her anywhere. We talk the whole time and she's so much fun to communicate with. We really get each other.
Friday: Makenna turned 8 and made this cake almost all by herself. The two toothpick people are Spencer baptizing her. Around the edges she wrote "Happy Birthday Makenna" with mini M&M's from her birthday package.

My mom sent her a dress and purse. I gave her scriptures, a dress and a sketch pad. Madalyn gave her a baptism necklace.
Saturday: Anderson was saying, "Take a picture of meeee!" But the shadows were terrible.

Spencer and his beautiful girlfriend, Brooke. They've been dating since Halloween.
Off to the Sweethearts dance Brooke invited him to.
Talea wanted a picture of the jammies we pulled out of the size 3 box. I sent it to the family in our ward who gave us the jammies a couple of years ago.

Nathan took the older kids to "The Mozart Group" concert with his family so I got to have a little kid night with these 3. We played Chutes and Ladders and hung out together.
