Week ending 10-9-22 Hurricane clean up, playing in the woods

Monday: Hurricane cleanup. I told the kids we'd just work for 5-10 minutes to quickly pick up everything as I cut up this fallen tree. I love to work efficiently. They just had to throw all the leafy parts of the tree into a pile it and then pile the logs. Two minutes into it they're playing. :) The little kids played the tree was a train complete with a branch that made a good horn. So I couldn't finish cutting it up. The girls used the branches and made a big dragon nest. All of the kids stayed outside for 1.5 hours playing.

One huge fun nest to play in!
We got some done anyway. I'll leave the rest of the train to be played in for awhile then I'll cut it up.
Tuesday: The 5 little kids got up early and put on sweatshirts and went out to keep playing.

Moving the cows to our other pasture. Wish they were mine. I'm so anxious to get our own cows or at least one family milk cow. These are beef cows our neighbor rotates through our pastures to keep the grass down.
Wednesday: Kaitlyn reading at the park while the other kids ride bikes and play on the playground.
Makenna eating her apple down to a tiny core.
Thomas made a water bottle holder for his bike with his 3D pen.
Organizing the bike and camping shed.

Thursday: All 6 kids played together outside the entire day.
I hiked through the front woods to look for the kids and found a lot of down trees from the hurricane.

They were playing "Mosstown," a game where they all own stores and buy and sell things with acorn caps. They named it Mosstown because it's at a place in the front woods up by the front pasture that has moss all over the ground and makes a perfect trail carpet from store to store. This is Kaitlyn's store. Her little popcicle sticks cup is full of acorn caps.
Thomas's store.

This is the bank.
Makenna found a perfect cubby in this fallen branch to hold her pocketknife.
She sells bark pieces which are lying and hanging all over her store.

What a great day in the woods!
Making homemade ice cream with raw milk for the last time before we pack the ice cream maker away for the winter.
