Week ending 12-4-22 Building bridges and other projects

We had a great week doing some projects around the property and house.

Monday: A friend gave us all this wood last summer and I've been itching to make stuff with it. These 3 were eager to build too.
Anderson would measure and he and Talea would take turns making the pencil marks for me to cut.

When Samuel got out an extension cord for my skillsaw Talea immediately started playing firefighter with it and putting out fires.
Meanwhile Kaitlyn and Makenna played their dragons and hunters game.

Samuel was the perfect worker, always cheerful and encouraging, tried solving the problems, willing to run and get anything, willing to do any job.

Carrying bridge #1 down to the stream.
It's full of leaves so you can't see it in the picture, but it's there. Every few feet you can see the water coming up from underground springs.
Tilly immediately started dancing on it.

Next job will be to clean out the leaves, a job I love doing. But the water is really cold.
Making bridge #2. Samuel especially loved the job of screwing in the screws.

Tuesday: Setting bridge #2 up in the woods. We wanted this bridge to have boards slightly farther apart to be like an obstacle course bridge. This creek also stems from springs but is deeper. We usually just jump across the creeks so it's fun having bridges.

Wednesday: After raining all morning the clouds rushed away super fast. The sky looked cool but by the time I got my camera and took a picture it looked like a regular sky.
We got some free doorknobs and hinges so Thomas went around replacing them, hoping to make our house look more updated.
Makenna cracked a lot of our pecans.
Thursday: Samuel, Anderson and I went to the singing on Main and tree lighting. Of course it was the one cold night this week so we were freezing but it was still fun.
Andy sat on Santa's lap.
Thursday and Friday we worked on the trail but I didn't take many pictures. We moved logs and branches and cut thorns and raked a bit. It was really fun and we all had a good time. I just love living here making our own walking/bike trails in our own woods.

Saturday: Kaitlyn made a cute little gnome for Madalyn on her mission.
Thomas changing more hinges. He was a whiz at it and finished before everyone else finished their jobs of installing door knobs, coat racks, and a toilet paper holder.
Makenna installing the toilet paper holder. It was also free and I'm so glad b/c our last one fell down at least once a day.
At night we watched Kylie's harp ensemble concert and it was amazing. Lots of great Christmas songs. I'm so glad she's gotten to take harp lessons at BYU.
