Week ending 12-13-20

This was a great week. All the kids played creatively, never asked for TV time, did a lot of schoolwork, and were surprisingly happy and cooperative. I wish all weeks could be like this. :)
Last Sunday: Our home teacher came over with his wife. We've rarely had one over the years and it's so wonderful to have an in-home visit and know we're cared for.
Spencer on piano, Kaitlyn on flute, and Thomas on Cello. I love spontaneous Christmas concerts.
Watching the Christmas devotional. Nathan took the 4 little kids to his place and Spencer went to Brooke's so it ended up just being us 4 and we had a fun little party.
Decorating bags to fill with candy and pass to our neighbors with our Christmas card.
Kaitlyn and Alexis were huge helpers in decorating, filling, and dropping off the bags.
Talea sliding down the stairs in a box.
Someone left us a wrapped box on our door. When we opened it we found a present for everyone. We opened them and got some fun books. It was so sweet of whoever it was!

Impromptu making snowflakes. I wanted to get the kids in bed but I also love it when they all have fun together without me instigating anything.
Tuesday: Tilly washing the table after breakfast.
My mom got Thomas a new shirt so gratefully we can burn this one. :) Major holes in both elbows, stained brown in many places, a perpetual stink, and 2 sizes too small.
Coloring in Andy's new book he got from the present.
I came home from a walk at 4:30pm to find the boys "having breakfast in bed." They were pretending that their snowmen were their kids bringing them breakfast in bed.

Tilly being cute.
Alexis making caramels.

I love sleeping girls.
Thursday: Decorating bags to give to her nursery friends.
The boys cleaned their room/playroom so that they could ride their Little Tykes cars in it.
The bed Sam and Andy share.
Sam's stuff on the left and Andy's on the right. I love how Sam has started folding his clothes and underwear and is being a lot neater than he used to be.
We moved Kait's and Kenna's desks downstairs to make room for the Christmas tree upstairs.
Talea wrapping Samuel's present of candy she picked out for him on a Mommy date.
Alexis cuts and wraps her caramels. They turned out perfect!

Friday: Kaitlyn and her teacher play Christmas duets.
A family of boys gave me "12 Days of Beauty" from Trader Joes for being a fantastic nature camp teacher last summer. I was so touched.
Talea assembling snack bags for her nursery friends--my little gift to my nursery class. I haven't done a thing for them all during COVID. We gave them applesauce, raisins, string cheese, goldfish, apple slices, and a chocolate santa. Talea was adorable getting them ready and talking to me the whole time.
Saturday: I took Alexis and Kaitlyn to see "A Christmas Carol" which Lexi's seminary teacher and family were in. It was outstanding!
Brother Brown and son Xander as Bob Crachit and Tiny Tim.

Visiting Brother Brown and his family who were the Bob Crachit family.
Makenna pulling out her other top tooth!
So cute! Just in time for Christmas.
Kait wanted this picture of her wearing a bib of lettuce.
