Week ending 1-31-21

This was a normal week with just homeschooling and playing after school. We had no lessons or appointments or activities so it was nice to stay home every day. We've had a warm winter with temps in the 40's so we play outside some every day and do crafts and read inside.

Last Sunday: I wanted a picture to send to my mom of the clothes she got them for Christmas. Kait and Kenna have matching navy dresses, Thomas got a new suit and shirt, Talea got a cute dress but didn't want to be in the picture and ran away right afterward.
I took Kaitlyn, Makenna, and Talea for a walk and enjoyed some time with just them.

Best friends!
When we got home we celebrated D. Todd Christofferson's birthday and sent him cards.
This one is Makenna's.
Kaitlyn's
Alexis'
Alexis made delicious brownies.

Monday: Kaitlyn fixed Kylie's hat and we mailed it back to her along with her sandals in case she gets to go back to Brazil On Thursday Kylie called and said she does get to go back to Santos!! Hooray!!
Alexis trying on her costume for musical to see if she has everything or needs to get anything else.

Tuesday: Making forts with neighbor kids Ian and Miles.

Ian and Samuel arm wrestling.

Kaitlyn and Makenna made these cool dragons all on their own without looking at a pattern or anything and then took pictures of them.

This one is for Andy and the wings can come off so that he's a dog too.

Friday: Andy was a  good helper on his dinner night washing potatoes.
Talea helping with the aspargus.
Stirring the gravy.

Week ending 1-24-21

Monday: I'm always so happy doing school with my kids. Since Thomas had the day off he joined us and helped Andy with his school.
In the afternoon I took Kaitlyn, Makenna, and their friend Lydia to the park. Suddenly snow started blowing in from somewhere else and it was beautiful.

The 3 girls making stuffed animals.
Making sel roti, a food from Nepal made by grinding wild rice and adding some ingredients and then frying the dough in oil. They weren't too bad.
We also made olivier, a Russian salad we were supposed to have made last week.
They look burnt in the picture but they weren't, it was just brown dough.
I love having family dinners each night. I'm so blessed to have wonderful children.
Andy and Tilly sitting on Spencer when calling for family prayer.
Sewing stuffed animal dragons.
After going to the library we dumped out one bag (out of three) and had a reading party.
Wednesday: Our friend, Stockton Ashby and his new wife. His family has 9 children and are the ones who gave us our big van. They're an amazing family.
Eating soup and sandwiches.

Thursday: Nature school. We had a lot of fun playing on the frozen creek and in the bushes.

I love watching everyone play and explore and talk to each other.
When the bigger 5 kids went off exploring looking for foxes (I saw one run across the creek) I stayed back with Alaia, who we babysit, and Talea.
Anderson enjoying poking the ice with his stick.

Samuel's first activity days for boys!! Can't believe he'll be 8 later this year. Tonight's activity was an obstacle course and Thomas went to help with it and they both rode with the leader, Eddy Summers.
Saturday: Talea going around fixing things with her hammer and doll.

Thomas won a meal from Mr. Beast Burger and just had to send the owner a picture of him getting his meal. Everyone else wanted their picture holding the bag too, but I won't put them all on here. :)
Being cute.
Some of the pictures he sent the owner.

Spencer walked in from a piano performance class and wanted in on some of the burger tasting.
Sunday: Spencer ordained Thomas a teacher.

When Spencer came upstairs to go to mission prep Talea grabbed him. I love how the little kids flock to him and want a tickle, flip, hug, or tease. It's so tender.
