Last Sunday: Ready for church. Three handsome sons with their suits and three beautiful daughters with flower dresses.
Watching a Sunday video with popcorn and a treat Kaitlyn made.
Monday: Makenna way up in the elm tree.
Playing "snort, piggy snort" for FHE.
Tuesday: Makenna having a consultation at the orthodontist for her very tiny crowded teeth while Kaitlyn gets her braces tightened.
Andy and Tilly played some made up word game the entire time and were so good.
Every morning Kait and Kenna are reading their scriptures in the living room when I come downstairs so Tuesday night I made little signs saying, "Kaitlyn's cozy Book of Mormon reading spot!" and the same for Makenna and put them on their couches with blankets, a tealight, and their scriptures. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but here are pics of them in the morning.
Talea also quietly reading in the morning.
The little boys playing in the meadow.
Thomas doing school.
I really enjoy doing science and history with the 5 little kids.
An art project we did that was in a civil war history book.
Makenna weeding the okra bed.
Samuel weeding the zuchinni for our ourside chore time before going to rehearsal.
Dropping the kids off at rehearsal. It was fun showing up early and seeing a bunch of theater kids hanging out outside. They're doing Shrek the Musical right now so it's just kids 1st -12th grades. Talea auditioned though and got in so she's the youngest there at barely 5 years old.
Friday: Talea's 2nd hair cut.
After
We toured the senior center where Carolyn did a lot of activities where we could see what it's like to be a senior. We wore glasses to see how hard it is to read with blurry eyes.
We wore gloves and had to open our pills and put them into a container to see what it's like to lose our dexterity.
We played bingo with ear plugs to see what it's like to lose our hearing.
It was all a lot of fun and Carolyn did a great job teaching us.
A fun way to call out bingo so that everyone could see what's been called (if they can't hear well) and see it if they're joining by zoom too.
Saturday: Tilly happily swinging. I love looking out the window and seeing her run and fly and sing to herself, thoroughly enjoying the swing. I got up close for these but sometime I should take a picture of my view from the window.
Thomas pruning a lopsided apple tree. All the apple trees but one are a mess right now with overgrown branches and losing their leaves halfway through summer so they become an eyesore by August--looking dead when nothing else is dead. I'm so tempted to cut them all down but really I need to learn how to take care of them and get them producing again if possible.
Movie party! We had a busy week so it was nice to watch a 45 minute episode and relax together before going out and tackling some more yard work. (It's rained a lot of August so it's been hard to keep on top of it; it's always wet!)
