Last Sunday: My mom reading to Talea. She is terrific with toddlers.
Monday: We left at 7:30am for Utah but only got 45 minutes into our drive before we had a blowout. Going over the pass, no cell service, a dusting of snow, freezing temps.
First thing we did was read the manual! It showed us where the tools were to unlock the security feature, lower the spare from underneath the van, and jack it up.

Comparing tire sizes. The spare was a full size tire, not a donut, but it wasn't as big as the others so we drove to Carson City and got a new one at Walmart. We spent 50 minutes changing it (first wasted a bunch of time deciding what to do and searching for the tools and spare before thinking to read the manual) and another 1.5 hours in Carson getting a new tire, oil change and gassing up.
It was beautiful going through the freshly snowed on forest.

Finally made it to the salt flats as the sun goes down.
9:45pm Made it home! Not our best timing, haha.
Spencer and Nathan put up streamers for my birthday.
Then they did their own thing while the kids and I raced to unpack the whole van and all of our suitcases and food by 10:00. We did it!
Tuesday: Painting!
The little boys missed Spencer.
Spencer did not miss the million interruptions and distractions while trying to do his online drivers ed class. :)
Tilly missed her friend and neighbor, Ruth.
Thursday: Kaitlyn got one scratch one day and the other one the next.
She says she's forgotten how to ride her scooter while we were gone. :)
Going to see the horses again.
Friday: While the boys were at the father/son campout we had a bakeoff.
Alexis made loaded popcorn brownies, Kait & Kenna made cookie dough fudge, and I made black bean brownies. Then we ate them with popcorn and watched "Troop Beverly Hills"--a girl's camping movie.
Cleaning up after our party. :)
Saturday: Talea put on this dress of Makenna's and it actually looked super cute on her.

When Alexis got her pajamas and marched off to the bathroom for her shower, Tilly grabbed some clothes and marched off too saying, "A shower, Wexi?"
