Week ending 9-20-20

Last Sunday: First practice of the doll primary program.
Someone gave us a box of skates so the kids had fun trying them on. Usually I would have waited until Monday but they were having so much fun together and we'd already done a lot of Sunday things so I let them.

Monday: Primary presentation practice #2. I love hearing them practice for hours while I'm working around the house. They even got Ruth to participate with them.
Eating a gooey brownie for treats.
The kids acting out crying in the darkness and destruction when Jesus died. They went around saying, "Oh that I had repented!" and crying for their families. They got really into it. :)

Tuesday: Makenna won a basket of goodies from the library reading program. Every year one of us has won something!
Wednesday: I love watching my kids doing school. I could take pictures of them all day to remember the sweet feelings I have of helping them learn. All feels right in the world when there are several kids happily studying in the school room and a few happily learning at the table with me.
We hadn't picked our garden since the day before taking Madalyn to Idaho (so 6 days) so we had a lot of picking to do. We got the apples from an older neighbor in the ward, but the rest was our produce.
After studying our ancestors from Wales, how they were good kings and bad kings who conquered castles, we made castles out of sugar cubes. We each picked a Welsh castle that started with the first letter of our name and tried to build it. It was a lot of fun.

Madalyn has always taken Makenna to her violin and piano lesson so this time I got to. She was so cute walking out with her violin and piano books!
Friday: We got to go to the sealing of Kylie's best friend from NC, Emma Walker. It was the best day of the week! The temples and grounds are closed except for live ordinances so the guard let us into the garage to park and then we met at the temple doors and were escorted in and out by the sealer.
Emma and Garrett went in first and then we followed them.

Coming out. Everyone was gathered by the temple doors but I knew they'd be coming out of the pavilion so I grabbed a picture of them coming out.

We loved these multi-colored flowers.
The groom and bride with their parents. It was awesome to see Sister Walker again after almost 5 years. I miss North Carolina so much and I loved being able to hug and talk to someone who still lives there as well as reminisce about old times.

Afterwards we went to the luncheon at the church. It was a very small group, about 30 people, and felt like a family party. Everyone was in a relaxed, fun mood.

Spencer and Thomas were at school but I brought the rest of the kids and we got this picture with Emma.

Saturday: After our Saturday chores we had our "Fall That's All" party.

Talea wanted to sleep in Madalyn's bed and she's always a little doll when I'm tucking her in. I can't get enough of her sweetness.
