Week ending 2-20-22 Ararat Park, Lexi's good news, Madalyn's first temple trip

Most of the week we just did school and watched some Olympics while getting other things done. The end of the week was exciting with good news from Alexis and Madalyn. No mission call, though. The mission department wrote that they needed a note from the doctor saying it was ok that Maddie's iron was a bit low so we're waiting for that and then have to resubmit. So probably another week or two, ugh! We waited for weeks and weeks last winter and now we're having to do it all over again. It's been agonizing and so frustrating. We wonder if she'll ever get a call and be able to serve. She's ready to go any day and expected to be out by now.

Last Sunday: Kylie's favorite view all dusted with snow.
Wednesday: Going to the park after the bookmobile. We always have it to ourselves and it feels so free. No phone service, nothing to do but run around and play, walk the trails, ride bikes, or sit and read.

Having a bike race

Friday: Big bow & arrow and air soft gun war. Everyone was just picking up little foam balls and throwing them and running around laughing.

Alexis got an email saying she got in to BYU!!
I can't believe it! She's only 16 and I don't want her going so far away from home. I was hoping she'd go to SVU but I'm proud of her and excited for her.

Talking about BYU.
Saturday: Madalyn went through the temple for the first time. So neat that when she turned 12 and did baptisms for the first time we lived in Eastern NC and she went to the Raleigh Temple. We moved to Utah just before she turned 14. Now we're back, living in SW Virginia and back in the Raleigh Temple district so she got to receiver her endowments here. So proud of her for making good choices and being worthy to enter.

It was a pretty windy day so our hair is all over the place, but love that Carolina blue sky.

She looked so beautiful inside all dressed in white and face glowing. Wish I could have taken a picture of that. While the matron was talking to us I just stared at Maddie and remembered that beautiful, angelic look she had.
Susan McCrea, Madalyn's first seminary teacher came from Ayden.
Morgan (Maddie's uncle who flew in from Utah for it), Susan, Madalyn, me, my cousin Nathan and his wife Alyssa.

Alexis babysat for 9.5 hours while we were gone and made some chocolate cheesecake and oreo truffles to pass the time.
