Week ending 2-27-22 First spring flowers

Nothing too exciting this week. No Olympics, no birthdays, no holidays. It rained all week but we still tried to have our outside time after school each day from 2-5. I can tell that time is my happiest because that's about all the pictures I took this week. Besides that, I got a lot of fruit trees pruned, the first lettuce seeds planted, and we enjoyed our lessons in school each day.
Last Sunday: We saw an opossum in our yard.
Climbing down the tree.
Sitting up in a tree for awhile.
I make a big lunch for after church on Sundays but dinner is fend for yourself. Talea decided to eat the whole bowl of leftover broccoli.
Then Andy joined in.

Monday: Giving Little Morgan a ride on the lawn tractor and hauling a load of wood before he left for the airport.
Madalyn took the Morgans to the airport and stopped and showed them Pilot Mountain.

Playing outside we noticed a lot of bulbs coming up. I was wondering if there were any here and couldn't wait to be surprised where they'd pop up.
There's a whole line of them in front of the wood here. I took a picture of them every day to see them grow.

Madalyn, Alexis, and Kaitlyn reading Harry Potter on the trampoline during outside time.
Tilly wanting her picture on the balance beam.
The boys helping me prune the 3 fig trees.
Walking while the kids were at rehearsal. Beautiful storm clouds. It rained the rest of the week.
Tuesday: Talea reading by the fire on a rainy day.

Talea wanting me to take pictures of her jumping in the puddle.
We walked to the mailbox and back and made up songs about the rain and daffodils. She always has to hold my hand and tells me to skip or swing hands and sing with her. I wish she could stay 4 forever.

I love watching the big kids push each other on swings and play outside together.
The first little crocuses! The same ones by the lamppost I took a picture of on Monday.

Talea and Alexis playing dolls.

Wednesday: Purple crocuses by Lexi's bedroom window.
The same yellow crocuses by the lamppost.
Five little kids on the swing and bottoming out. We need to raise it.
Five little kids playing dragons sleeping.
A lone little flower in between two pine trees.
It rained all week but we had this break between storms Wednesday afternoon where the sun came out and it got up to 75 degrees and we all ran out and played. Then by 9pm it was raining again and didn't stop until Friday at lunchtime.
Thursday: More crocuses!
We waited for a break in the rain all day and finally got it at 5:30pm where we all ran outside. I love the beautiful fog and mist here in the valleys and hills and pastures.
Tilly wanting a picture by the sign.
The top of our driveway.

I love walking with my little girl.
Hard to tell but Makenna is taking pictures of the lights and water droplets on the bush. Madalyn went around with her camera too and everyone else ran around as it got dark. I love having family time outside.

Friday: The little crocuses open. The rest of the row hasn't yet.

A bunch of purple crocuses open by Lexi's window.
The 3 girls reading on the porch.
Saturday: Playing outside. I could say it a million times. I just love our outside playtime. It feels like all is right in the world.
The bulbs at the end of the week. Fun to watch them all week. Our first sign of spring. They opened when it got above 60 and closed when it dropped below.
13 little flowers all in a bunch.
Sorry for the flower overload. We're excited for spring. Not for warm weather because we've loved the winter here, but to see what spring looks like here. It's the only season we haven't seen. I know it's going to be spectacular and I can't wait.
