Hurray for the Strawberry Patch!

Every year we wait all April long for the strawberry patch to open. This morning I called to see if they were open and they were, so as soon as Nathan came home from his night shift I made him take us over there. We haven't gone anywhere all week as I'm not supposed to drive yet and we were all excited to finally have strawberries for our sandwiches, cereal, and French Toast.

"We're off on our way to the strawberry patch!" This is the song the kids sing when we're going somewhere fun. They substitute other words like "airport" depending on where we're going.

The kids love to wear their red or green to the strawberry patch and were thrilled to even find a little strawberry outfit for Kaitlyn.

While I was nursing Kaitlyn the kids melted a bowl of chocolate chips and then the older four proceeded to do an assembly line of washing and hulling and slicing the berries in the kitchen. When they were done we found Thomas had been helping himself to the chocolate, eating it with his hands.

We love strawberry season!

Oh my goodness Marcie, you are amazing/crazy! You have a baby, and then go to the strawberry patch! :D I love it. And your kids are so cute--that baby is just beautiful--congratulations again!! Oh, and that's hilarious about Thomas eating the chocolate--classic. Smart boy!
